Winter Preheater
A mechanical ventilation preheater treats frosty air in alpine climates keeping the system running efficiently without froze over condensation.
The polar opposite of the summer bypass function is the winter preheater. If it’s too cold your filtration system might need a little boost with a little preheating from the mechanical ventilation preheater. This component warms incoming frosty air. If you live in an area where your heat exchanger intake is likely to frost over — for example, alpine areas of Australia in winter — then this little bit of extra energy input does wonders and is worthwhile to keep the system operating efficiently. The mechanical ventilation pre-heater warms an otherwise frosty air supply which would freeze condensation and take the operating efficiency of your system down to zero. This frost reduction element is only really needed in areas where it snows and is highly specific to climate.
